Clyde Valley Fruit Day
The first ever Clyde Valley Fruit Day was held on Saturday 4th October 2008 at Overton Farm – alongside the farmers market. A good number of people turned out despite heavy rain and their good spirits and interest in the produce and activities made this a very special event.

John Butterworth’s advice on fruit and display of 100 varieties of apples was a key attraction - as was the Orchards Group’s juice pressing (over 40 gallons of apple juice were produced on the day!). There were splendid displays from local schools, a display on the history of fruit in the valley by Lanark Library, kids activities, and a range of stalls selling produce.

We would like to thank all the traders, schools and community groups who made the Fruit Day possible. We also hope that the event has inspired people to contribute to a bigger and better version next year!
